Saye Sathiyakumar and his family migrated to Canada in 1995 from Sri Lanka. Situating themselves in a very low income community in Scarborough, Ontario for 15 years, it came with its own challenges and obstacles. At a very young age, surprising for most, Sathiyakumar was a “creative”. Putting paint brush to canvas, and pencil to sketchpad – he was naturally talented in illustration and design. Pursuing his undergrad in Graphic Design, but ending up in commerce, he has brought the discipline of creativity paired with unorthodox thought processes, to the world of business.

Today, Sathiyakumar serves as the Principal & Head of Investments at Borough Capital Group. A private holding company & family office of diverse investments and ventures. Sathiyakumar is a business executive who started his career in the recruitment industry, and most recently diving into hospitality, arts, technology and healthcare. Sathiyakumar has 10+ years of high level sales, strategy, operations and management experience. Utilizing his resources within talent acquisition, he is looking to solve major gaps in various other industries. Sathiyakumar also has a deep rooted passion for social impact, and so, has focused recent investments for the betterment of his community.

Sathiyakumar and his businesses have been recognized on the Globe & Mail’s Fastest Growing Company, SIA’s 40 Under 40, EY Entrepreneur of the Year Nominee, Canadian Staffing – Industry Achievement Award, Malvern Made Panelist, and on a social impact, Sathiyakumars’ name is etched into two student Business Excellence awards at both his highschool and elementary school in the Woburn Community. All within a short timeframe, Sathiyakumar has made a positive impact not only in the world of business, but within the community that has raised him.

Alongside his entrepreneurial ventures, he is a big advocate of giving back and specifically in regards to mental health awareness. Sathiyakumar has been dedicating the last few years to gentrify and improve the lifestyle in his hometown of Scarborough, Ontario. Working alongside education institutions, community groups, and less fortunate neighborhoods to provide a platform for the beautiful culture, people, and talent of Scarborough.
